We use keychains for a variety of ways. Keychains help organize the keys in your pocket. The help promote your business or your club.

But did you know that with miniaturization it is now possible to have the tools you use every day inside your pockets?

The different tools available surprised me. You can have hammers, screwdrivers, tape measures and more.

Of course, you can’t expect these tools to have the same strength, durability and usefulness as their full sized cousins, but I’d wager that in an emergency, you would rather have one of these available than none at all.

One example of a tool is the eyeglass screw driver. How many times have I noticed the lens on my eye glass about to fall off. The screw driver lets me make corrections anywhere I might be. No more worries.

Another example. I worked with a business that doing electronic repair, and one of the most common tool we use is a wire stripper.

There was a situation where I needed to strip a wire very close to a component, and the standard wire stripper we had was just too bulky.

Fortunately, one of my office mate had a keychain with a single purpose stripper for a #30 jumper wire. It was small enough that he could strip close to the component.

“That is amazing!”, I thought. “Everybody should have one of this. Where did you get this?” I asked.

“You are a little too late.” My office mate said.  “I got this as a gift from a few years ago. My friend got it from Radioshack”

RadioShack is no longer around, but at there are plenty of places online for you to find a selection of keychains to fit your needs. From bottle openers, nail clippers, pliers, lighters and more.
